Third Grade Homework Expectations

Third Grade
Homework Expectations

The purpose of 3rd grade homework is extra practice of skills learned in
class. Homework is not used in determining achievement grades on
the report card.

3rd graders are expected to read 15-20 minutes each night.  There is no homework assigned over weekends or holidays. Homework in academic subjects may be assigned as needed.

We suggest parents provide a quiet area to complete homework at a
consistent time (e.g after school, after supper, before bed). Parents
are not expected to help their child with homework, but may provide
support as needed. If students are not able to complete work independently, they should simply try their best.
